John C. Rademacher
President & Chief Executive Officer
John C. Rademacher possesses nearly two decades of experience in the healthcare industry, successfully deploying technology solutions and expanding professional services capabilities. Under Rademacher’s guidance, Option Care Health has become an innovative leader in home and alternate site infusion services, with best-in-class care and improved clinical outcomes leading to high patient satisfaction and cost efficiencies for all stakeholders.
Prior to his tenure at Option Care Health, Rademacher joined Option Care in 2015 when he was appointed Chief Operating Officer. In this capacity, he was responsible for the development and execution of the strategic plan to significantly transform the company’s operating model through the investment in people, process, technology and facilities. This initiative included reimagining and strengthening the practice of pharmacy, nursing, care management, logistics and revenue cycle management across a national platform and deploying the enabling technology. After serving as interim CEO since August 2017, Rademacher was named CEO of Option Care in January 2018.
Rademacher held various executive-level positions at leading healthcare companies, including Cardinal Health where he served as President and General Manager for both the Ambulatory Care Division and the Nuclear and Pharmacy Services divisions. He also acted as president of CareAllies and Chief Operating Officer for the CIGNA Behavioral Health business at Cigna Corporation, where he had responsibility for the development and delivery of care management and population health programs.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Hillsdale College, Hillsdale, Mich., and a Master’s in Business Administration from Wayne State University, Detroit, Mich.
Luke Whitworth
Chief Operating Officer
Luke Whitworth brings broad healthcare and leadership experience to Option Care Health as the Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Option Care Health, he spent nearly fifteen years at Cardinal Health with a proven track record of accomplishment across Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions, Integration, Sales and General Management. He served as the finance executive to build a multi-billion dollar post-acute business across distribution, services, and technology. He also had sales and general management responsibility for Home Healthcare Solutions and drove significant growth, customer acquisition, and efficiency.
Luke joined Option Care Health in April 2018 as the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management. Under his leadership, significant improvements were driven in cash collections, bad debt rate, and productivity. His most recent role was Senior Vice President, Patient Administration and Specialty Operations where he oversaw revenue cycle management, patient registration strategy, patient experience, contact management, and specialty operations. Luke has transformed culture and results through leadership development, engagement, technology, and analytics. Luke has served on the Executive team within Option Care Health as has been integral to strategy development, capability building, and execution.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from The Ohio State University as well as an MBA in General Management from the University of Michigan.
Mike Bavaro
Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Diversity Officer
Mike Bavaro serves Option Care Health as the Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Diversity Officer with over 20 years of human resource leadership experience.
Prior to joining Option Care Health in 2016 Mike served as divisional Vice President at Blue Cross Blue Shield of IL, TX, NM, MT & OK, a health insurance company with 22,000 employees where he was responsible for all talent acquisition and workforce strategies and served as the company’s interim Diversity and Inclusion Officer. He also served in senior HR roles at Career Education Corporation and United Airlines. Additionally, Mike is an active duty and reserve Navy veteran and is currently an Air Force Reserve Officer where he serves as the Equal Opportunity Officer for 1,500 military personnel at Grissom Air Reserve Base in Indiana.
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology from Thomas Edison State University as well as an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University.
Chris Grashoff
Chief Growth Officer
Chris has more than 20 years of global healthcare experience in leadership and general management with a demonstrated history of advancing patient-centric healthcare solutions in provider services, medical devices, and pharma for both developed and emerging markets. At Option Care Health, Chris most recently led Naven Health, the Ambulatory Infusion Suite strategy and execution of over 160+ locations, and New Business Ventures. He also led the integration of the merger between Option Care Health and BioScrip in 2019.
Prior to Option Care Health, he spent nearly 12 years at Baxter International leading multiple global businesses and marketing organizations in renal care, which included living in Sweden as the Global Franchise Head for In-Center Hemodialysis following Baxter’s acquisition of Gambro. He began his career at Eli Lilly & Co.
Chris earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from DePauw University and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Brett Michalak
Chief Information Officer
As CIO of Option Care Health, Brett Michalak is responsible for all aspects of information technology ensuring alignment of technology initiatives and operations with the Company’s business goals and objectives.
Prior to joining Option Care, Michalak was the CIO for Tickets.com, a privately held subsidiary of Major League Baseball Advanced Media, LP, where he led the creation of the Provenue® software platform – a revolutionary event in the live entertainment ticketing industry. In this role, Michalak was responsible for the product development and technology organizations. Under his leadership, Tickets.com received the 2009 CIO 100 Award from CIO Magazine for creating business value through the effective and innovative use of technology.
Prior to Tickets.com, Michalak held a variety of leadership and technical sales positions in the Technology, Financial Services, and Distribution industries. He is a proven leader with 30 years of operating experience and has a record of success in key roles. Michalak is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and draws on his experience to lead teams to deliver outstanding results.
Cari Reed
Senior Vice President of Quality and Clinical Services
Cari Reed serves as the Senior Vice President of Quality and Clinical Services, overseeing enterprise-wide Quality and Risk Management Programs and clinical service strategy. Leveraging over 20 years’ experience in health care leadership, Cari is responsible for driving Option Care Health’s unwavering commitment to high quality care, superior patient outcomes and clinical excellence. Through continuous cycles of improvement and measurable performance indicators, over 2,000 nurses, pharmacists and dieticians partner to deliver care in the home or at alternate site locations while maintaining high patient and customer satisfaction. She champions innovation and initiatives to enhance patient care, service offerings and clinicians’ experience.
Cari’s previous experience includes serving as SVP, Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer at Option Care from October 2015 to October 2022, in which she built the company’s inaugural Compliance & Privacy program to a best in class function against industry benchmark standards. In this leadership role, Cari executed and supported transformational initiatives, merger & acquisition integrations, as well as business growth while aligning clinical, quality, operational, technology and regulatory teams.
Prior to joining Option Care Health, she has lead Compliance & Privacy programs at Saint Barnabas Health System in N.J., Abington Health in PA. and Loyola University Health System in Ill. Additionally, Cari has led Internal Audit and Risk Management functions, launched start-ups and enhanced existing compliance programs. She is sought as a public speaker and panelist and has been the lead through the defense of enforcement actions, including whistleblower cases and government agency probes, as well as successfully seeing a health system through a Corporate Integrity Agreement.
Cari holds a bachelor’s degree in International Environmental Studies from Rutgers University and a degree in Health Law from Seton Hall Law School.
Mike Shapiro
Chief Financial Officer
Mike Shapiro serves as Chief Financial Officer for Option Care Health. In this role, he leads all financial aspects of the company including reporting, planning, treasury and tax. Shapiro is also responsible for corporate development responsibilities, including all M&A activities.
Prior to joining Option Care in 2015, Shapiro served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Catamaran Corporation, a publicly-traded pharmacy benefits manager, and as Chief Financial Officer of Rexnord Corporation. Shapiro also spent fifteen years with Baxter International, holding multiple positions of increasing responsibility. He began his career with Deloitte.
Shapiro earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Miami University and a master’s degree from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (not licensed).
Collin Smyser
General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Collin Smyser is the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Option Care Health. Collin is an experienced legal leader with a proven track record of providing strategic legal support to public companies in rapidly evolving, highly regulated industries such as consumer products, retail, pharmaceuticals and technology.
Prior to joining Option Care Health, Collin was the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel for Elanco Animal Health Incorporated and served as its chief corporate governance, securities and corporate transactions attorney. Collin was also previously Vice President, Deputy General Counsel for Kimberly-Clark Corporation, where he was responsible for directing and executing the legal strategy for the company’s $8 billion North American consumer business and oversaw the company’s Global IP and Global Supply Chain legal teams.
Collin also previously served as Vice President, Corporate Secretary at Walgreens Boots Alliance and held legal leadership roles at Allscripts and Motorola. He began his career in private practice at Allen & Overy LLP in London, England and at Winston & Strawn LLP in Chicago, Illinois.
Collin has his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from the University of Southern California and his Juris Doctorate from Stanford Law School.
Caroline Budde
SVP, Chief Compliance Officer
Caroline is an experienced legal leader with over two decades of experience in building privacy, security, compliance and risk management programs. Prior to joining Option Care Health, Caroline was the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel – Privacy, Security and Digital and Chief Privacy Officer for Baxter International. Caroline was also previously Vice President, Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer at Walgreens Boots Alliance. She began her career in private practice at Foley & Lardner in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Caroline has her Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University and her Juris Doctorate from Saint Louis University School of Law.
Maritza DeGagne
SVP, Field Operations
As the Senior Vice President of Field Operations, Maritza DeGagne oversees operations for the North Central and West areas. Maritza began her 30+ year health care career at Option Care Health as a pharmacist and has since served in several clinical, operational and leadership roles within the organization. She advanced her career by providing strong business and skilled operational leadership across several corporate divisions including Field, Specialty Pharmacy and Nutrition Operations. By drawing on her expansive clinical, operational and business expertise she drives business transformation to positively impact operational effectiveness and improve patient outcomes.
Maritza earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Washington.
Roman Fry
SVP, Strategy and Program Development
As the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Program Development, Roman is responsible for accelerating Option Care Health’s growth strategy and development of new services and solutions. Roman is also accountable for strategic partnership and acquisition of capabilities to enhance and expand offerings.
Roman brings more than 15 years of experience driving strategy, growth and innovation for Fortune 100 organizations in leadership and consulting roles. Prior to Option Care, he served on the leadership team at Evernorth Care at Home, a Cigna subsidiary. Roman is a recognized expert in value-based care and home-centered care.
In his free time, Roman coaches’ youth sports and supporting Fairview Cares, an organization he and his and his wife founded. The organization serves underprivileged children and families in their community.
Roman holds a dual major from Clemson University where he was a decorated student-athlete in football.
Kim Harvey
SVP, Field Operations
Kim Harvey serves as Senior Vice President of Field Operations with responsibility for the Northeast, Southeast, and South Central areas at Option Care Health. With 30 years of experience in the health care industry, Kim brings a high level of strategic planning with an emphasis on engagement and growth to the organization. She is educated as a pharmacist and has served the organization in many roles. Kim is responsible for driving success and standardization in all areas within operations while maintaining high levels of quality and focus on patient care. Kim’s oversight of Operations Management includes collaboration with all departments to produce seamless execution, in addition to developing process improvements to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Prior to joining Option Care Health, Kim spent 11 years in leadership with Wal-Mart Pharmacy. She was responsible for business growth, employee engagement and retention, as well as complete turnarounds for multiple sites in the districts she led. In addition to her time with Wal-Mart, Kim has held leadership positions with Bioscrip, Care Point Partners and Kmart leading her teams to record levels of growth and national prominence.
Kim earned a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Northeast Louisiana University.
Benson Yang
SVP, Business Development
Benson Yang serves Option Care Health as the Senior Vice President of Business Development with nearly 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He is also a pharmacist and a key member of our Diversity & Inclusion Steering Committee. Benson and his team are responsible for developing innovative solutions in support of our payers, health system/provider partners and BioPharma. Through strategic alignment with clinical, commercial, and operational leadership, they are driving the future of re-imagining the infusion care experience
Prior to joining Option Care Health, Benson spent 24 years at Cardinal Health primarily in their Nuclear Pharmacy & Manufacturing Services business where he was responsible for Business Development, R&D, Scientific Affairs and Manufacturing. There he led business development opportunities in working with pharmaceutical companies and academic centers to support clinical trials and ultimate commercialization of novel new products in molecular imaging.
Benson earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Purdue University.
