Job: Staff Pharmacist (Mail Order) - Columbus, OH
    Location: Columbus, OH
    Description: Position Summary: o An individual in this position communicates with physicians, their staff, and patients, making certain all prescriptions and orders are complete and ready for processing; he/she works closely with the pharmacy technician staff to ensure orders are processed correctly, but from time to time will process orders as well. Responsibilities: o Verifies all prescription orders completely and with a high degree of accuracy. o Communicates with physicians and customers to resolve problems and provides patient counseling to those who request it. o Initiates and receives phone calls/faxes to doctors/medical personnel for new prescriptions and/or for clarification about prescription orders. o Assures pharmacy personnel are following all applicable federal and state pharmacy laws as each order is processed.
    Qualifications: Education and Licensure Requirements: o Current State of Ohio pharmacist license. o Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from accredited school of pharmacy. o Must have scheduling flexibility and be able to work overtime to meet business needs. Experience Requirements: o At least one year of experience within the pharmacy industry required. o One year of prior experience as a Mail Order Pharmacist is a plus, but not required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: o The ability and desire to appropriately advise internal and external customers regarding the use, side effects, and contraindications of medications dispensed. o Strong interpersonal skills and demeanor promotes a cordial, caring environment for internal and external customers. o Excellent written communication skills that convey professionalism and accuracy. o Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and pharmacy order fulfillment systems. o The ability to work with confidential material and maintain confidentiality is required along with sensitivity to employee’s needs and data. o Careful attention to detail. o Strong analytical skills and the ability to trouble-shoot complex issues. Criteria Questions (Please provide with your response): 1) Are you a Pharmacist currently licensed in the State of Ohio? 2) Have you earned your BS in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)? 3) At least one year of experience within the pharmacy industry 4) Do you have the skills and ability to communicate with physicians and provide patient counseling?
