| Description: |
Position Summary:
o An individual in this position communicates with physicians, their staff, and patients, making certain all prescriptions and orders are complete and ready for processing; he/she works closely with the pharmacy technician staff to ensure orders are processed correctly, but from time to time will process orders as well.
Responsibilities:
o Verifies all prescription orders completely and with a high degree of accuracy.
o Communicates with physicians and customers to resolve problems and provides patient counseling to those who request it.
o Initiates and receives phone calls/faxes to doctors/medical personnel for new prescriptions and/or for clarification about prescription orders.
o Assures pharmacy personnel are following all applicable federal and state pharmacy laws as each order is processed.

| Qualifications: |
Education and Licensure Requirements:
o Current State of Ohio pharmacist license.
o Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from accredited school of pharmacy.
o Must have scheduling flexibility and be able to work overtime to meet business needs.
Experience Requirements:
o At least one year of experience within the pharmacy industry required.
o One year of prior experience as a Mail Order Pharmacist is a plus, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
o The ability and desire to appropriately advise internal and external customers regarding the use, side effects, and contraindications of medications dispensed.
o Strong interpersonal skills and demeanor promotes a cordial, caring environment for internal and external customers.
o Excellent written communication skills that convey professionalism and accuracy.
o Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and pharmacy order fulfillment systems.
o The ability to work with confidential material and maintain confidentiality is required along with sensitivity to employee’s needs and data.
o Careful attention to detail.
o Strong analytical skills and the ability to trouble-shoot complex issues.

1) Are you a Pharmacist currently licensed in the State of Ohio?
2) Have you earned your BS in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)?
3) At least one year of experience within the pharmacy industry
