ORENCIA (Abatacept- generic name), a newly FDA approved medicine is used to treat adults with moderate to severe Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA).  ORENCIA™ (abatacept) is available currently through BioScrip’s Community, Mail and Infusion Pharmacies.

ORENCIA™ (Abatacept- generic name), manufactured by Bristol-Myer Squibb, is indicated for reducing the signs and symptoms, inducing major clinical response, slowing disease progression of structural damage, and improving physical function in people with moderate to severe Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), who have had an inadequate response to one or more DMARDS, such as methotrexate or TNF antagonists.   ORENCIA™ (abatacept) can be given as monotherapy or with other RA medications called DMARDs.

Healthcare professionals interested in initiating a patient on ORENCIA™(abatacept) therapy, please follow these steps to enroll a patient:

Physician's can submit an order for ORENCIA™ (abatacept) to our National Mail Service or a BioScrip Community Pharmacy.

To submit an order to our National Mail Service:

1. download and complete the following ORENCIA™(abatacept) Therapy Initiation Form and fax to the number indicated on the form.

Or

To submit an order to a BioScrip Community Pharmacy:

1. Complete an Orencia "Therapy Initiation form". This form can be found on the BioScrip physician ordering page. Follow Step 1: “Choose an enrollment form” from the drop down menu. Print and complete the ORENCIA™ (abatacept) form. 
2. Choose a BioScrip ordering location. A physician may choose to have the medication delivered from one of our local and regional pharmacy locations. Download the fax cover sheet for your designated location from the BioScrip physician ordering page. Follow Step 2: "Choose a BioScrip ordering location. If you need assistance choosing a pharmacy location, visit our Store Locator for location and pharmacy information.
3. Fax the BioScrip "Therapy Initiation Form" along with the "BioScrip Fax cover sheet" to the fax number indicated on the BioScrip fax form.
